Mimi black gilet

The Mimi black shearling-lined suede gilet features intricate mushroom embroidery.  Influenced by Transylvanian and Romanian waistcoats, made out of sheepskin in the pastoral country since ancient times.

The goat suede used for the coats is ethically sourced in Chennai, India, and is also a biodegradable by-product of the meat industry. Muzungu Sisters only uses natural sustainable, biodegradable materials that leave a minimal trace on our environment. Just as our pieces are designed to be kept for years to come, we believe in a conscious, conservative approach to consumption.

With a touch of Muzungu whimsy, the prints cover alpine florals, and Safavid miniatures of flowers alike. The classic styles are supplemented with velvet sets, and new hand-beaded evening dresses.
