Kelly Rutherford’s Global Glamour

Her fashion-savvy wardrobe has positioned actress Kelly Rutherford as a leading tastemaker, and while the NY-based star works Manhattan polish and modern American chic to perfection, her go-to brands have a positively global flavour, as she reveals here…

Kelly’s Worldwide Wardrobe Picks

Paolina shirts

This is a label that really captures my global tastes – a Belgian brand creating pieces with Catalan accents. The Brussels-based label’s signature pieces are exquisitely crafted, colour-rich shirts made with vibrant mix-and-match fabrics. They’re unique and beautiful, and I adore the brand’s Earth-friendly ethos of crafting “shirts to live in and pass on.

Cayumas shoes

Another multi-cultural brand! My friend Anna – the brains behind this label – has an amazing store in Madrid where she sells authentic Venetian shoes produced by her brand Cayumas. I live in them all summer, and in winter I wear them with socks. They’re so comfortable, and the colours and fabrics are beyond gorgeous.

Britt Sisseck dresses

Carrying on my fashion world tour, this is a Danish label. It’s a female-owned business, too, just like Cayumas – in fact the two brands have a stores next to each other in Madrid – and Britt also has a store in Copenhagen, where originally she’s from. The brand designs all sorts of pieces – I live in Britt’s dresses and I'm wearing one of her shirts right now. She just makes the most beautiful clothes.

Rue de Verneuil totes

On to the next location! – Rue de Verneuil is a Parisian brand that makes incredible tote bags. They come in all manner of fabrics, patterns, sizes and colours, but all have a signature tote shape, are super-roomy and endlessly stylish. I use for them travel, for the beach, and my kids use them for school. They’re timeless, versatile and I’m never without one.

Vanessa Sposi swimsuits

Designed in their Parisian studio, woven in Italy and made in Portugal – Vanessa Sposi’s swimsuits and cover-ups are the ultimate in chic European beachwear. They make incredible swimsuits and coverups. Other beach favourites include Rivage – a Scandinavian brand that’s manufactured in Italy – and Liya Kebede’s Lemlem, which is manufactured in Morocco. So it’s fair to say I embrace a whole wide world of swimwear!

Veronique Gabai ROSE PREMIÈRE by Kelly Rutherford

Veronique creates fragrance, beauty and jewellery inspired by the Mediterranean – pieces that embrace nature and speak to both beauty and wellbeing. She is a dear friend and we have collaborated on Rose Premiere, a perfume crafted around natural ingredients works in combination with your own skin’s chemistry with one's skin, blooming into a true signature scent that is unique to each wearer. Spring has always symbolised renewal for me, and this fragrance carries that optimism – the light after winter, the sense of something beautiful is beginning. Fragrance is the final gesture. It’s invisible, but it defines everything.

Veronique Gabai Rose Première Le Spritz Eau de Parfum Necklace

My friendship with and Veronique has always been rooted in love, kindness and creativity. Our fragrance captures that female sensibility – intimate, yet meant to be shared – and the necklace carrier is an extension of that. It represents unconditional love, and that is truly the heart of this collaboration.

Sonsie lipbalm

This beauty brand brings my shopping world tour back home to LA. Actress Pamela Anderson bought this brand, and like her I love its vegan, Earth-friendly approach and minimal, less-is-more ethos. I always have a Sonsie lip balm in my purse and I never travel with one on me.

Libelula jewellery

Camilla Austad Knutsen is the Norwegian designer behind this fabulous jewellery brand, and she is an amazing woman. Her timeless pieces are rooted in nature, inspired by childhood summers in her grandmother’s Norwegian garden. I wear a Libelula ring every day – a little diamond pinky ring – and I love all Camilla’s designs, whether off the peg or beautifully bespoke.
