Rose’s Wellness Workout

Model turned nutritionist Rose Ferguson knows a thing or two about nurturing body and soul, and her new book – The Reset – is designed to help each of us find our own Rosie glow. Here, the renowned wellness practitioner shares her tips for a 360° September reboot…

A Note From Rose

For me, a reset in September is about putting some basic structure back into your life – eating properly, getting outside, moving your body, sleeping well and giving your nervous system a little less to deal with. From nutritional know-how to understanding what works in my wardrobe (it’s part of feeling good in yourself), these are a few of the guidelines I use to maintain my holistic health…

Eat Real Food Before Buying Another Supplement

Supplements have a place, but they are supplementary. I would always start with food diversity: sufficient protein and fibre supports movement, sleep and stress regulation. You do not need to turn your life upside down. You need to give the body the conditions in which it can work properly again.

Make Sachets Your Support System

I love things that are genuinely easy to keep up when life gets hectic. DIOME Grounded, Ancient + Brave Creatine and IM8 all come in simple sachets, so they are easy to throw in a bag or add into the day without requiring another complicated routine. DIOME Grounded is the one I reach for to maintain calm and resilience; Ancient + Brave Creatine is an easy way to keep creatine consistent so I take it for strength, and muscular and cognitive support, while IM8 is useful as a broad daily nutritional back-up when life is very busy.

Read The Reset!

My new book, The Reset, is out this month, which is really exciting. It sets out a four-week programme designed to help people get back to the fundamentals of good health, with a focus on food, metabolic health, sleep, stress and movement. I love the idea of lots of people doing it together as we move into autumn.

Give Your Wardrobe A Seasonal Reset

I always love that shift into autumn dressing. My choices would be Alex Eagle Studio and Victoria Beckham – both are excellent for pieces that are structured but still wearable. There is something about getting properly dressed again after summer that helps reset the rhythm of the day, and I like clothes that make you want to get out, walk, work and feel pulled-together without having to think too hard about it.

Eat More Plants And Fibre

Think addition, more vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds, herbs and whole grains mean more fibre, polyphenols and support for the gut and your metabolic health. And get your greens in! Dark, leafy greens are an easy win, delivering folate, magnesium, carotenoids, vitamin K and plenty of phytonutrients, with very little effort.

Support Your Skin With An LED Mask

I use LED as part of my skin routine. Red and near-infrared light can support cellular signalling and mitochondrial activity, and consistency is what matters most. My go-to is the Healf Red Light Face Mask, and 10 minutes of mask time is great way to start your evening wind-down.

Make Evenings Feel Different From Days

Sleep begins before bed. Dim the light, put the phone away, get into proper pyjamas and establish a clear end to the working day. A phone brick or lock box is very simple, but sometimes removing the decision works better than relying on willpower.
